Wilanów Palace

Wilanów Palace is Warsaw's answer to Versailles — and while that comparison gets thrown around too casually in Europe, here it genuinely earns it. Built in the late 17th century as the summer residence of King Jan III Sobieski, the palace is a baroque masterpiece that somehow survived the Second World War largely intact, making it one of the few royal Polish interiors you can actually experience as it was meant to be seen. The building's ochre façade, flanked by formal gardens that stretch toward a lake, is the kind of sight that makes you stop mid-step and reassess your afternoon plans.
