Tucked away in the leafy 13th district of Hietzing, the Klimt Villa is where Gustav Klimt spent the last decade of his life and produced some of his most iconic works, including The Kiss and several of the Stoclet Frieze studies. The modest studio house was acquired and painstakingly restored by the city of Vienna and opened to the public in 2012, offering a rare and genuinely intimate window into the working life of Austria's most celebrated Symbolist painter — far removed from the grand museum spectacle you'd expect of someone of his stature.
