The Bridge of Peace is one of those rare pieces of contemporary infrastructure that actually earns its place in a city's visual identity. Designed by Italian architect Michele De Lucchi and opened in 2010, this undulating glass-and-steel pedestrian bridge arcs across the Mtkvari River, connecting the Old Town with Rike Park on the opposite bank. Its latticed canopy is embedded with thousands of LED lights that pulse and shimmer after dark, making it as much a spectacle as a crossing. Love it or find it jarring — and Tbilisians remain divided — the bridge is impossible to ignore.
