Patkuli Viewing Platform on Toompea Hill offers one of the classic views of Tallinn’s Old Town: red-tiled roofs, medieval walls and towers, and the spire of St. Olaf’s Church, with the Baltic Sea beyond. The elevated perspective makes it easy to see how tightly the historic streets are packed together below.
Toompea was historically Tallinn’s seat of power, while merchants and craftspeople lived and traded in the Lower Town. The Patkuli Staircase links the two levels, climbing through trees to the edge of the platform and making an atmospheric approach on foot.
