Hidden inside the COEX Mall in Gangnam, Starfield Library is one of Seoul's most genuinely jaw-dropping public spaces — a towering, cathedral-like atrium lined floor-to-ceiling with over 50,000 books. It opened in 2017 as part of a major COEX redesign and quickly became one of the most photographed interiors in South Korea, not because it was designed to be Instagrammed, but because the scale of it is simply hard to believe until you're standing in it. The shelving climbs roughly 13 metres high on both sides of a central walkway, with rolling ladders and reading nooks tucked at various levels.
