LX Factory is a former industrial complex in Alcântara that has become one of Lisbon's most compelling creative hubs, occupying a 19th-century textile manufacturing site that once hummed with looms and machinery beneath the shadow of the 25 de Abril Bridge. The bones of the original Companhia de Fiação e Tecidos Lisbonense are still very much visible — exposed brick, crumbling plaster, raw iron beams — and the decision to leave the architecture largely unpolished is exactly what gives LX Factory its character. It doesn't feel curated in the way a shopping centre does; it feels found, like a city within a city that evolved on its own terms.
