Pearling Path

The Pearling Path is a UNESCO World Heritage Site threading through the heart of Muharraq, tracing the industry that once made Bahrain the pearl capital of the world. Stretching roughly 3.5 kilometres, the path connects merchant mansions, diving equipment stores, ancient mosques, and restored courtyard houses that collectively tell the story of a society built on the sea. Long before oil reshaped the Gulf, it was the pearl trade that funded the ornate wind towers and carved wooden screens you'll see along this route — a reminder that Bahrain's prosperity has always come in waves.
